A lazy relaxing day today - I spent most of the morning in bed trying to fend of this awful cold that’s trying to take hold. By lunchtime I was up and we took a quick drive into town to have lunch at a local bakery.
It’s not all parks, beaches and wildlife parks on our trip. This afternoon we mixed it up with a drive up into the Daintree National Park to the Mossman Gorge, about 20km north of Port Douglas.
It started raining lightly on the drive up and we stopped on the side of the road to take this picture of the clouds coming down through the mountains:

The rain had stopped by the time we got there and it was only a short walk into the rainforest to get to the main lookout over the gorge:

They have a swimming spot just below the main lookout but it was a little late in the day for a swim so we settled on a few more photos before we left instead:

Quiz Question – Which town in QLD is the closest to the Great Barrier Reef?
