I woke up feeling a lot better today – it does help waking up with the sun shining through the window at a beachside location in tropical north Queensland!!
Only a short drive down to Cairns today so we left in the late morning – we dropped some postcards in the mail this morning so they should arrive with the parents and at work by the end of the week – keep an eye out.
The park we are staying at is excellent – the best one we’ve been to so far. It has around 120 cabins and another 120 caravan sites so it’s huge. They have their own café, mini mart and petrol!!
On arrival at the park they give you a tour around the whole park in a little golf buggy – Ryan chose the one with Nemo on top!!

They offer tons of free activities including: tennis, bocce, basketball, outdoor movies, video nights, pancake breakfast, 2 pools, large playground, 2 giant jumping pillows, a water park, mini golf and chess. In addition, you car hire tandem pedal bikes to cruise around the park.
When we were looking for the water park we came across a playground and Ryan had to have a ride on the whale ‘rocking horse’:

After visiting the water park at The Strand in Townsville a couple of times, Ryan has been asking to go back again ever since, so of course the first thing we had to do was try it out. Ryan was most unimpressed that I wanted a photo before we got started!!

The water park is only a recent addition to the park and it is much better that the one in Townsville – 4 water slides and a giant bucket (of course) with 2 mini buckets as well!!
Quiz Question – In which city is Australia’s largest jumping pillow?
Accommodation – Big 4 Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort
